Karen Frost (viola)
My love of music began at the early age of 6 at home in Manchester with my dad, himself an amateur violin
player . I went on to study the violin at Dartington College of Arts with Colin Sauer, leader of the Dartington
String Quartet, which at the time was well known for its frequent radio and TV broadcasts. I then went on to
complete teacher training at Rolle College, Exmouth before taking up a full time post in Cornwall with the
County Music Service.
With nearly 40 years of teaching experience I still very much enjoy running ensembles, string workshops and
chamber music projects for the young people in the St.Austell area of Cornwall.
In my spare time I play regularly with the Three Spires Orchestra, Truro Choral Society and many, many other
local organisations and I am delighted to be invited to play viola for the Corineus String Quartet.
